TINMAN
I am excited to showcase a project that emerged during the lockdown period. In collaboration with my talented friend Abhijit, we embarked on a journey of exploration and learning, delving into the world of 3D animation. Inspired by the captivating character called Tinman, created by the Emmy-nominated Anand Babu, we decided to create a 30-second short teaser.
The project began with my rough storyboards, laying the foundation for Abhijit's exceptional character modeling skills. The challenge of translating the 2D design of Tinman into a 3D model was skillfully tackled by Abhijit, who took charge of character and background modeling, rigging, and animation. To enhance the realism, we sought assistance from our friend Rajib Debnath for fur-related aspects. Meanwhile, I focused on the storyboard, look development, lighting, and compositing stages.
Throughout the process, we embraced new tools and techniques, specifically RenderMan and Katana software, which empowered us to bring our vision to life. This project not only allowed us to sharpen our skills but also served as a testament to our dedication and passion for the world of animation.
